We have a fantastic opportunity to join our education teams at HMYOI Deerbolt, HMP Durham, HMP Holme House, HMP Kirklevington, HMP Low Newton and HMP Northumberland as a Cover Trainer on a sessional (ADHOC) basis.

We are looking for Trainers in a wide range of subjects including:

P&D

Fitted Interiors

Maintenance Operations

Catering and Hospitality

Multi Skills - Bricks, tiling, electrical

Barbering

PMO - Performing Manufacturing operations

Horticulture

Be-Active (DofE)

Joinery, Joinery Enterprise

Engineering

Hairdressing

Beauty Therapy

As a Cover Trainer you will be responsible delivering high quality, learner focused vocational training. By developing lesson plans to ensure compliance with curriculum best practice. Ensuring the learner records are accurate and maintained in line with the data protection.

To do the role of Cover Tutor successfully youll need to:
To hold at a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year.
Must be willing to gain PTLLS - Preparing to teach in Lifelong Learning Sector within six months. Commitment to gain subject specific qualification to train at Level 3, within two years.
Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies, within one year.
Must have experience and should be willing to demonstrate knowledge and skills within the relevant vocational area.
